Generally, individuals seeking Cisco Certification are computer networking professionals who possess advanced computer knowledge and who are seeking certification for higher pay grade and increased marketability in the job market.

CISCO CERTIFIED NETWORK ASSOCIATE (CCNA)

CCNA certification is a first-level Cisco Career certification and indicates a foundation in and apprentice knowledge of networking.

The Cisco CCNA certification validates the knowledge required to install, troubleshoot, and monitor Cisco security network devices. The CCNA teaches networking based on application covering the types of practical networks students may encounter, from simple home or small office networks to more complex enterprise models. It offers a hands-on approach to learning, and uses interactive tools and easy-to-follow labs to help students learn the general theory needed to build networks. CCNA Program is delivered by Unitech College of Technology as a Cisco Network Academy. In addition, CCNA Security confirms an individual's skills for job roles such as network security specialist, security administrator, and network security support engineer.

A CCNA will have the expertise to perform the following tasks:

• Install and configure Cisco switches and routers in multiprotocol internetworks using LAN and WAN interfaces.
• Provide level 1 troubleshooting service
• Improve network performance and security

CISCO CERTIFIED NETWORK PROFESSIONAL (CCNP)

The CCNP certification (Cisco Certified Network Professional) indicates advanced or journeyman knowledge of networks. With a CCNP, a network professional can configure and operate local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and dial access services for organizations with networks from 100 to more than 500 nodes. The Cisco program focuses on computer hardware. Exams are given by Cisco and certifications are recognized internationally.
